We’re still in the middle of the spring holiday, and honestly, I’ve been feeling a bit stuck this past week. I haven’t done anything particularly productive apart from housework and taking care of my daughter.
Only this week did I finally get back into my gym routine. Lately, I’ve been feeling a bit heavier, and I had assumed that fasting during Ramadan would help me lose maybe 1–2 kg—but it turned out quite the opposite. The sluggish, crash-like feeling after breaking fast really made it hard to stay active, and it dragged on for more than a month.
I’ve been a little anxious, wondering if I’m losing muscle. Even though I managed to go to the gym 2–3 times over the past few weeks, I know that without consistency, I won’t see much progress. It’s also clear that I need to slowly improve my diet—I’ve been indulging in way too much junk food and sweets lately. That definitely needs to change… slowly. sobs
Anyway, enough of me rambling about my insecurities—lol. Let’s talk about something happier: Eid! We celebrated Eid here in Switzerland on the 20th of last month. We celebrated the first day of Eid at the Brunei Ambassador’s residence, and it was such a lovely gathering. Alhamdulillah, my daging rendang turned out beautifully tender this time.

There was an amazing spread of food and desserts—rambang mata meliat!
Sadly, I completely forgot to try the Basque cheesecake, which I had been eyeing all day.
My daughter also received a little angpau (money gift) from one of the officers, and the packaging was so unique.

We ended the day with a family photo in our traditional outfits—such a special moment.
