Spring, Ramadhan and updates

Hello, lovelies!

I apologize for not giving you any updates about life, uh, not that anyone would even care, but I guess seeing this site still exists and the plan still running I feel obliged to write something.

Chirp! Chirp!

Spring’s here. Yet I’m not ready yet to let go of my sweater (or my winter jacket). The crispness of the cold air still embraced me and the warmth of the sun crept only for a few days last week. So sometimes I get confused:D Do you feel the same as I do?

Despite the strange weather transition, my family and I are fortunate that we do not have to fast Ramadhan in the summer as in previous years. At least we didn’t feel that thirsty and agitated since the weather is still cold. The sungkai (as Bruneians said when they break the fast) time is not as long as during the summertime when we have to wait until 10+pm to break the fast. 8+pm is nonetheless doable.

I have so many plans for food that I want to cook for Sungkai. It’s the only time when I feel the motivation to cook and try new recipes is at its highest. I didn’t even feel embarrassed if the attempt failed in front of my mother-in-law. Lol.

The Lost

Sad it ever happened. This is the answer to my hiatus that happened last August. I couldn’t constantly produce many stickers every month since then because my father passed away and we had to go back to Brunei the next day after we heard the news. My brain could not function properly at that time and I felt so unproductive. The loss was so sudden as to truly open our eyes. And since my mother-in-law only had him in her life and now he’s gone, we are the one who needs to take care of her. We brought her to live with us in Geneva. Hence, why I mentioned her earlier.

The Online Shop

I don’t want to give up yet selling my stickers on Etsy. I said six months, that’s the only time I put this up for trial. If there aren’t any sales, I’ll close the shop. Then six months went by, and STILL no sales. I have no idea what I did wrong. Is it because my stickers are not cute enough? Are they expensive? Or I didn’t do a lot of promotion?

Those of you who have the answer, please give me some advice and I allow you to criticize my shop so I can make a few improvements. Check my Etsy here and please leave a few reviews here. That makes me happy.

Webtoon

I have talked about it many times and I have postponed the release many times. Those who have been waiting for so long that I publish my webcomic on Webtoon, I truly apologized. The process took longer than I thought and only in the first month of this year I was back on the job. I now safely say that it is left for the proofreader aka my husband to check the comic before I posted it on Webtoon. So stay tuned guys for the updatešŸ˜‰

Goals and Art

I want to pat myself on the back for coming up with so many sketches these few days. This had made the pages of my sketchbook only a few left empty.

2022 I want to reopen my Etsy shop where I can sell some of my illustrations that will be made into the digital planner stickers and print.

Before this, I sold colouring pages black and white digitally. However, that didn’t grab much attention than my Fiverr gig, which at that time the sales went far well.Ā It was a simple gig; I gave services to draw kids colouring pages for certain prices. The prices were damn cheap. I attracted several buyers, but there’s this one regular buyer who bought my gig so many times that put some orders before I could even begin his current order. I got too overwhelmed and spent hours and hours completing the gig and that led me to put my Fiverr gig on hiatus.

Back in that day, I didn’t know how to limit the orders ā€“ I didn’t even know the setting existed. Lol. But that’s okay, I guess. Since I know how it works now I’ll begin again, but not this sooner. I’m focusing more on creating digital products for my Etsy shop.

Currently, I’ve been busy creating the ‘breakfast‘ and ‘Daisy‘ themes. However, it’s still a long way to go. It’s one of my goals for this year. Have I told you I also want to publish my romance & comedy comic on Webtoon? That too has been keeping me busy. I don’t know when I able to complete it, but for sure the mission is to publish the first 3 episodes on the platform. If that attracts many readers or even nice the Webtoon editor’s attention, that’ll put a smile on many faces; my parents, my in-laws, my husband, and myself once again.

If they hire me, at least I could help my husband to pay my daughter’s therapy bill and help buy any necessities for the household. But yeah, I’ll let you guys know when it gets published.

Where Does This Goes?

Soon I’ll be putting my online comic strip All The Small Thing in hiatus.

It is only until July 13th. 3 weeks on a break. It is not because I lack the passion to draw this comic, it’s upon my realization that there are not so many readers really wants to have a look into it. Thus, I shall put it on hold until I can come up with a new type of genre that everyone loves ā€“ romance.

The truth is, I have a mixed feeling to do this. I know it’s a tad bit late for me to turn back time but I know this is for the best. I have to do it one at a time and think this over many times because taking it all in because it is not good for my mental health.

It gives me so much of anxiety and no, I refuse to give it all in when I know there’s a better way to do this. I should’ve done the research about the popular genre on Webtoon that people would like to read. I didn’t know it is romance. Therefore I focus more on finishing the main comic I abandoned many years before. I missed illustrating my old blog with funny strips perhaps that was the biggest reason I did All The Small Thing comic on the first place. Sigh.

Fret not, my faithful ATST subscribers, I’ll update you guys whenever I feel ready to draw the strip again. So enjoy this last but not least my #7 All The Small Things comic ā€“ Childhood. Read here.

World of Creativeness

I should have started to try this platform 4 years ago when things still new. Now when I came back to have a look at it it has already evolved into one of the famous platforms where many webcomics creators chose to upload their stories for the pleasure of us to read.

These days I have time to proceed with what I already beganā€“to publish my comic online. However, as I mentioned it on my vlog, the story wouldn’t be the one that I drew that time. I realized it’ll take time to finish and since I missed doing a comic strip, I attempted to do it and voila it is now already in 3rd episodes at Webtoon.
